The tunnel appears to have been closed with heavy duty concrete and metal fences. A giant shame, this was one of my favourite local visits.

The door has no handle on the outside. I haven't been able to check the other portal but I would be surprised if it wasn't similar.

Thanks certainly substantial! Guessing whoever owns the tunnel wants folk to stay out, I gather they had trouble with motorbikes inside and youths upto no good so probably was only a matter of time, A sad loss.. thanks for the update.
