Enjoyed that, cracking work, some interesting transitions, but NO to any more st00ping :p

Always good to see others on with seeking out new drains, keep up the good work fella :thumb

Cheers @Ojay - st00ping is st00pid. You think I could get my legs shortened on the NHS?

Fabulous report and pix! And "small clay face" -- amazing find. Well done pal.

Cheers! Yeah I had to check with Eric that it wasn’t just the previous fumes messing with my head. ‘Err... does that bridge have a tiny face or is it just me?!’

Some top notch brickwork in there! Great work :)
From seeing the first pic of that tiny outfall, I wouldn't have expected to see such niceness.

Thanks @TheVicar - I should make it clear that the initial tiny outfall was a fair distance from what we ended up in here. Just goes to show how it’s with pursuing further down stream...

Slight Return to Bagley Dyke, Sheffield, December 2017

Just a quick update on this drain. Having bailed early on the last visit due to much aching, me and @Esoteric Eric returned to find out where else this culvert went. Unforuntately, we didn't get too much further until we were met with an increasingly shallow arch. The following photos were taken on the return visit and the wide angle pics don't give a very good impression of just how stoopy this bit was. After a fair amount of crawling, and with no sign of things opening up further ahead, we took a few photos of the nice Sheffield bricks and headed out.

Outside I got a quick photo of the pump that used to take water from the dyke. The pump is dated 1836...

Heading in the other direction we were forced to skip the next part due to high levels of stink. Instead we carried on to where I had located the outflow to the River Don. This also turned out to be stinky, and fairly recently covered (judging from a photo I had previously found from 2009 where the pipe was still open).

So this particular trail ends here, for now at least...
