Josephine Butler House was converted for use as a care service. The building had previously been a Victorian residential college, located in the Sefton Park area of Liverpool. The service was registered to provide support to people between the ages of 18-65 years of age that have mental health needs. Accommodation was provided on three floors with the communal areas lounge, dining room, games room and smoking area on the ground floor.
All the bedrooms accommodation was provided in single bedrooms with a passenger lift to all floors.
The last CQC inspection was in 2016, with a fairly good appraisal, it is not known when or why it was closed.
The building is now it seems used frequently by the local druggies and delinquents with minor drug residue and apparatus in evidence.
This is the first time I have ever had to negotiate internal barbed wire.
