I can assure you a fair chunk of it eventually ended up on eBay as I know somebody who purchased some of the items *cough Dweeb*

Suffice to say they had a striking resemblance to the content within your Flickr folder ;)

And before tongues start wagging I’m in no way suggesting Scrappy had anything to do with looting of said Apothecary items.

These sort of places go to show that there are still stunning hidden gems out there if you distance yourself from the 'exploring with cretins' tourbus locations they fall over themselves to see.

Yeah the drawers ended up on ebay piecemeal, i would have assumed if they were removed legitimately the carcass would have been taken too. Ive been restoring a drug run and ended buying a drawer for it's label, but left it intact in the end. The bloke sold at least 30 to my knowledge so he may have bought the lot or perhaps had permission to take them... or perhaps he happened upon a once in a lifetime skip!

I have no doubt it did, there was a few break ins around the time. I know all the draws went missing between the 2 permission visits and we did trawl ebay to see if they ended up on there. we didnt find them but that was back in 2017.

They wasnt taken legitimately, they was taken between the permission visits back in 2017. Did look around then on ebay to see if they was on there but they never appeared back then.

Fabulously atmospheric photos, historically fascinating too. I can remember my mum rubbing calamine lotion over me if I got sunburnt when I was little. There's an old chemist shop frontage on Fore Street in St Ives (Cornwall) that I imagine once looked like that inside, see pic.

If that is the shop I think it is, you have just answered a childhood question! Great report, and some really cool photos. Well done, my man!
