Can I offer a slight correction on the historical side? Prior to July in 1977 it was the Lilley & Stone Girls' High School. In September 1977 it opened as a mixed comprehensive with a mixed intake from Sconce Hills School and Woodhill School, Collingham (think Graff Electronics). I was at the school from September 1977 to the summer of 1979. Later, when Sconce Hills closed it became The Newark High School, a short-lived institution. It wasn't until I think the late 1990s that it became part of the Grove School, now Newark Academy. So far as I'm aware, the site was last used for educational purposes in 2016. It is a matter of some sadness to see how quickly it has deteriorated in the space of seven short years.
