we was thinking of looking around tanfield near me after lockdown, they don't mind you snooping about as long as you not causing trouble or vandalising i think some one did it a few years ago on here.

I seem to remember from an interview with Dai Woodham, that one reason that the locos survived so long was that it was far easier to cut up the wagons due to most of the locos having asbestos insulation so they were left till last - by which time the restoration movement had taken interest.
