Report - Lyndhurst Hotel, Southampton, June 2015

Closed in 2014/15 due to losses, the 60 room hotel was struggling to bring it's facilities up to date. Saw a few posts on here about it and decided to check it out. Loads of dated items doted around inside, a laptop (which was left on in one of the rooms) and swimming pool out back. There is also a basement but didn't venture down.

Damn what a crazy place. almost looks like it still has people living in sections of it. Thanks for report. Odd the laptop still on maybe they left in a hurry not paying bill and forgot it lol. Very odd one that.

This once grand hotel has been going down for years. To supplement income the owners starting using it as accommodation for those on benefits while still trying to attract the upmarket sort of clients that The New Forest brings. Then when those 'guests' did not need the council to pay directly things took a turn for the worse. There are very few decaying pieces in the South, so watch this space...

Had a poke round earlier today and sad news for exploring - due to more and more pikeys targeting it for scrap metal, they now have dog patrols going 24/7 and they may even be adding to it after speaking to the security. He did mention however that if I wanted to get in to take photos the site manager (normally around during the day) might not say no.
