This is My second visit here,
first been December 2014 but too unforeseeable circumstances no photographs were taken.
But the return visit was well worth it,
even tho it was pouring and I had too wait 30 mins for secca too do their rounds.
Coke has been made at this site for more than 130yrs, whice opened about 1880s
the site is owned by Hargreaves Services and closed in December 2014.
Coal supplies were took from the former Maltby colliery,
also owned by Hargreaves Services.
The 42 ovens produced 200 000 tons of coke per annum,
by products were reused in a 11 megawatts heat and power station
this produced electricity for the works with surplus been sold too the national grid
some were recycled and sold too suppliers.
No decision has been made about the site, demolition been the likely choice.
