Has anyone tried to enter of explore the long and never used tunnel from Marylebone Station to Finchley Road ?
This was built by the Great Central Railway in anticipation that if rail traffic increased considerably, it would provide additional lines.
(I believe) it can be accessed from the Romada Hotel, as they discovered its bore about ten years ago, when they were accidentally surprised when workmen broke-through whilst trying to enlarge a gymnasium. It runs alongside the current Chiltern Lines out of Marylebone. and never had any track laid.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
