Thanks for posting! Do you have any history on the site?

I'm quite disappointed stripey shirt man isn't in the last two pictures. I thought it was some sort of urban exploring Where's Wally. :)
Literally about to comment that hahah

Thought he was lurking at the very end of the corridor (to the right of the end door) in the second last photo but not so sure now...

Matlock asphalt and permite works.
Permanite Asphalt was incorporated in 1989 and latterly known as Ruberoid and part of the IKO Group. The company was dissolved on 2 September 2016. In Matlock was the manufacture of asphalt products such as roofing sheets, involving the mixing of aggregate, bitumen and sand. Powdered limestone – which is still prevalent like a thick dust throughout the main tower – was mixed with hot bitumen emulsion and poured into moulds before being left to cool.

Did you stand on top of the tanks? It's a great view. The little winch room place you climb up to had pigeons nesting when I went up who flapped out at me when I got to the top and nearly had me off the ladder lol.
Won't be there much longer as it's going to be houses.
A stone's throw down the road through the main gates is the old quarry and if you carry on you find loads of old foundations and old barns etc.

This place was the first explore I posted on this site and holds fond memories for me, there's a big handle in that caged bit which I pulled and dropped a ton of dust down the chute totally blocking visiability. The resulting cloud that lingered the rest of the time we were there was lucky not to bring the fire brigade lol.
