Hello, I'm grateful to be here, I'm an amateur film & digital photographer who enjoys spending part of my weekend going out and taking photographs, I have watched many videos and seen other explorers over the past few years and always enjoyed seeing the content, I am aware that there are rogue explorers who are just in it for the social media presence and i have also seen the effects of what happens when too many people find these places.. it ruins the experience. I have explored a few places around the greater Manchester area (Salford, Heaton Moor, Clayton, Cheetham Hill Bolton, with 50/50 luck. Have travelled to Northwich, Wigan and Knutsford. We dont mind the travel if we have the chance to explore exciting places. The places I have visited have probably been over done to death but i feel that this is just how i imagine anyone would get into this hobby.

My interest are bunkers, mills, factories, large stately homes, ( I know pictures or posts about houses are forbidden here) anywhere the would yield a nice obscure/different photo opportunity.

For safety I normally go with my brother and will generally make a judgement between each other if we would proceed or not and have a general plan of action in the event one of us gets injured.
Our primitive arsenal are head torches, a panel lamp, hand torch backup and my camera bag ( though to be fair i have found my phone a much easier performer in dull/dark conditions without the flash to cause a giveaway.

Over the last 2 months we have visited and explored 5 locations successfully and 5 locations that have not been viable for us to proceed.

I have plenty of pictures, but for now I want to just introduce myself here.

Kind regards!

Welcome to the site! Just so you know, posts about houses aren't totally forbidden here - only if it's the tiniest, most soggy derp imaginable.

Large stately homes could be fine to post about.

Look forward to seeing some reports from you!

There's a nice paper mill at Ellesmere Port. You can walk straight in too!
Hi! That sounds perfect! I tend to shy away from heavily monitored sites, etc loads of cctv cameras, or security, or public places like town centers, the walk in kind of places are ideal until i gain more experience. Thank you again!

Oh i see, this place i visited was a 10 bedroom mansion, its got a few original features and even the silk curtains still hanging however the firebugs have been in and torched part of the place.. i don’t understand their logic at all.

Thank you, i shall upload soon

That looks just the sort of place i’d be looking to visit! Nice pictures, and it’s just open to park up and walk right in?
Yes pretty much. There's active works going on around but with a bit of care, you can just park up, wait, pick your moment and....... enjoy! ;-)
