Constructed in 1870 for Lord James Douglas, Otterburn Hall has a very grand feel to it. It was used mostly as an estate for the rich and powerful of the area but did have a stint as a military hospital during WW2. Following the war, the Hall was bought by a Christian group with an education plan in mind, however this was never fully realised and the building became a hotel in 1980 but suddenly closed its doors in 2012. The Hall was bought in 2017 with the plan to reestablish the hotel and make it a luxury get away however the place has been badly stripped and damaged putting these plans in massive doubt.
Despite it having been pretty stipped and a bit trashed, especially the piano, I found the place to have a really nice charm to it. The old features of the building are quite appealing to look at and from a photography point of view, there's a lot of good opportunities. I could hear diggers at work on the campsite so maybe rushed a bit but would like to go back another time! :)

This is going downhill. Lovely coverage though. Good to see the round stain glass still intact. Lovely building, shame its going this way
