Lol at the fact no one has done Elementis, the place was a gold mine, and now the main buildings are now in the rubble....

Well it's a simple site to do, but it just depends how much you value your health. The worst affects of the chemicals on site aren't immediate, they take several years to develop.

It looks as good as I thought it would and I look forward to seeing the report if you decide to do one.

Value your bodies as you wish, I'm going in the Marines, so i value my health very highly. I say, man up and see the last Chromium site in Britain.

If the hazard was so much as people on here are making it out to be, monitoring air filters would be in place, and the site would be off limits to security and only HAZMAT trained personnel would be allowed on site. Chromium is an airborne threat, and if it can travel a few metres into my lungs whilst im running around a site within 2 hours, the site is a threat to the surrounding area.

I'm now going to get a reply form an ex worker on how wrong I am :p

Might shove a report up, depends how many people want to see it really! :)

Value your bodies as you wish, I train hard, run a 8:30 mile n half and am going in the Marines, so i value my health very highly. I say, man up and see the last Chromium site in Britain. Chromium as a whole is one of the lesser hazardous metal materials, indeed parts of the process in making chromium may be carcinogenic, but you would need to be rolling around in the kilns, and in the acid tanks to recieve any threat within the minor few hours you are on site.

We had a IIRC Red Mitsubishi pick-up, he was indeed relentless, but as quoted, I feel this was one of the easiest places I've ever had the pleasure to mooch around! I mean if the shit hits the fan, do one and jump over the fence! When did you visit? There was a fair amount of interesting stuff when we was on site, but I'm pretty crazy about Industrial shite :)

Exactly, most of the site has been cleaned now anyway, 90% of all the pipes had tags on them saying they were cleaned/ decontaminated, the fire trucks were there to wash everything down and the sand bags to contain the water. Not "ncase something bit went bang"
The worst bit of the site was the caustic manufactoring sheds, and the safety gear that was left in lockers from the workers? plastic suits, plastic goggles you can pick up from a hard wear shop and and dust masks, if thats the safety gear needed for workers do we really have to say its not worth exploring even if everything has been cleaned and de-contaminated?
I had a cough for about 20 miles after the site and thats it, gone after abit of water (i get a worse cough from pigeon guano).
