Lol... whenever I see shots posed like this, I always think of people setting timer on camera then "running into 'cool' position" before timer runs out..

yep remote FTW, Ive got a little deal extreme infra read remote but it doesnt work from very far (I need to mod it), and for distance I can use my rf602 flash radio trigger as a shutter trigger (if Im not using it on flashes) which is what I did for this shot of me (camera on top of a tripod, on top of a digger):

I used to do the timer on my old sony...then being clever i updated software/firmware on camera and it then only did 2 seconds....sooo get a remote

But then Im even cheaper.. replaced my broken tripod with an even cheaper version

I have a wireless shutter thing but I only use it for intervals... so I still do the 10-second dash...
