That is one of the saddest images I’ve seen on this forum, someone PLEASE go get those pretty typewriters

I think the saddest part to see is the rollers for ke

And Jaffa, you may have the shirt but guess who has the last respirator there :D

This is a brilliant report, I must have been here half a dozen times but your pictures really do it justice. It looks magnificent! The boiler house was the first building I got into myself and I too, was in awe! Sad to see it completely flattened now... Theres a vid on YT from a member on here walking round the flattened site, seeing all those bits of familiar machinery scattered about the place is a strange feeling. Did you manage to do the Social club round the corner?

I just saw that video then. It is very depressing recognising parts of the site in the state that it’s in. What I am confused about is how that forklift in the mulch room was so intact, that thing was on the fourth or fifth floor if I remember right? They wouldn’t safely bring it down only to cover it with rubble. A tough thing!
I should try get back to see the rest of the structures, especially that boiler house before it’s gone.

This is an excellent report! Do you know what the current state of Fletchers is? I would love to give it a visit before it’s gone for good.

Thanks, I could be wrong but I think it's pretty much all gone now, the main parts at least anyway. Further up this thread there are some photos of its demolition.

Thank you for letting me know. I’m glad that I at least got to appreciate the beauty of this place by looking through your report, so thank you.

It thought it was totally flattened earlier in the year but then it wasn't that long ago the workshops had a massive fire and turned out everything but the main mill was still sitting there!

Is it actually totally gone now as in you've seen it with your own eyes?

I didn’t see anything about that fire, when did that happen? a mighty shame too as that huge room looked lovely. It would be strange if they demolished the mill, but left everything else and didn’t redevelop?

That’s interesting. I think I’ll check it out some day next week!

They have been demolishing it a bit at a time for ages now so I wouldnt be surprised if a load of it is still there.
