A while back I created a thread for boilers and boiler rooms, but tbh they pale in comparison to wonderful turbines, generators, blowers, pumps, drive motors and all that jazz. There really is nothing nicer to see than a lovely turbine after all...

So now it's sexy industrial turbine (and related equipment) time :D

I've got a selection of turbiney goodness to hand but I'll have to delve deeper into my collection to drag out drive motors/pumps etc etc...

A pair of early 1900s GEC turbines inside a former mill complex power plant

Another pair of turbines, one being a Westinghouse and if I'm honest I'm not sure of the maker of the other, as the plates had been removed. Both were painted in a very pleasing baby blue and yellow colour scheme though.

I believe these two partially dismantled ones from two different plants were also Westinghouse examples.

I've got more squirrelled away but need to remember where and when....but for now have fun kids and lets see some more lovely things.

Interesting thread! I'm excited for what's to come. ;)

First one is this old Brown Bovieri turbine located somewhere on a former steelworks site:

Second one is this more modern and much larger AEG turbine. This one was located in a now demolished big coal power plant somewhere in western Germany:

Third one is one from Siemens which was located in a small but truly stunning station which powered a former paper mill
