Noticed this was being demolished recently and was half tempted to have a look! Looks alright actually!

It's being stripped, as far as I know they don't have permission to actually demolish it yet.

And July as per the title.

I went at 18:00 and they’d gone. It was only yesterday I was there.

It doesn’t look like it had too much investment, the Leeds one had stadium seating in place of the flat floor then was reprofiled to recliner chairs whilst the projection went digital. This one looks stuck in the 90s.

There's now a wall missing at front end of the building. And all doors have been ply boarded

The Dolby Cat700 digital reader is still worth a few quid (even though it was probably made in the mid 1990s.). Were there any racks of sound equipment? The older analogue sound equipment is quite rare now and it is a shame that most of it got binned when the projectors were updated to digital images from proper film about 10-15 years ago.

Funny as I was literally just reading an article on the Derby Telegraph of an urban explorer getting a slapped wrist from the police whilst exploring the old cinema.

I went today, couldn't get in anywhere, locked up tight and a security man on site.. Almost walked into him bit spotted him first. Great piks!

Did some filming in there during the mid 90s, when I worked for ITV - for a Documentary.
It's built on an old Army Barracks and the Cinema along with the Bingo Hall and Malt House style Pub was reported as haunted.
Cleaning staff kept handing in their notice after seeing odd things; experiencing stuff.
Must admit, while we were there, something felt odd; some areas were freezing cold - despite it being the middle of August.
A very odd place indeed.
