It's been a while since I last posted on the forum, but after a recent trip to Bulgaria, I thought this one would be worth a write-up, hope yous enjoy...

Background Info:
"The Sky Fort" located on the outskirts of Sofia, is currently the tallest building in Bulgaria, standing at a height of 202m (663ft), it certainly makes its mark on the skyline. Construction began in 2017, and is expected to be completed sometime in 2023. Once completed, the building will comprise of 2 underground car park levels, 36 office floors, 3 technical floors, a cafe, a restaurant and an observation deck, totalling the building to 49 floors and a surface area of 80,000 square metres.

Once finished, 2023 -

On with the night:
One of the main targets of our trip was to try the country's tallest building, and so on our final night in the city, @James Cross and I decided to push for it.
As darkness fell, we began to make our way towards the site of this megastructure, we'd prepped well with 2 cans of Red Bull for the inevitably sweaty walk up the staircase, and so we began to evaluate the situation with the usual construction site obstacles. One major off-put was the idea of getting collared and potentially missing our flight back, but nevertheless, we pressed on.

An hour or so passed, and having not seen any sign of life coming from the on-site security hut, despite a light being on with a van parked outside, we advanced towards the base of the tower, ducking and diving our way around various piles of building material between the fences and building.
Having now made it across no man's land, dodging what cameras we could, we found ourselves a way into the staircase, and so the long haul to the top began...

As we made it past floor 40, the temperature began to drop, and so we knew the end was within reach.
9 floors later, we stepped out onto the roof, and so with a sigh of relief and an obligatory fist bump, it was time to get the cameras out.

And that was that...
Needless to say, we were both pleased to of got it in the bag in the time we had left. Admittedly it was difficult to get any real composition on our shots, but overall was worth the sleep deprivation and cold sweat-soaked journey back to the city centre...

Hope you enjoyed!
Absolutely stunning! I’ve spent a lot of time in Bulgaria and it has some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen! Props to you for having the balls to do this!
