Back in May I had a reason to be in Manchester with a friend so a road trip ensued. On the way down we stopped off in Belmont, Bolton at Springside Paper Mill.
Originally a dye factory it was converted to a paper mill by Charles Turner & Co. CT&co was taken over by Kruger who ran the factory for 150 years. It's well known site and as has been explored regularly since it's closure in 2002.
There were some active construction works on the building highlighted in the image below, as well as some active CCTV cameras covering the main courtyard area. When we visited there was a security van parked by the main entrance but we couldn't make out for sure if anyone was inside. The surrounding area is quite marshy and there is asbestos in multiple areas.
