Detailed history lifted from countyasylums.co.uk;

After closure in 2020 the site was handed over to Homes England who are planning a residential development consisting of 200 homes plus two retained ward blocks. Construction works are hoped to begin in 2024.
Solo visit whilst having a couple of days away in Canterbury & Dover during the summer.

Some store rooms which looked to have been derelict a while. Various stuff in here including old patient artwork, various medical junk and a single bodybag!

Quite enjoyed it here really, yeah it’s a bit smaller and more modernised than you’d like but still spent a few enjoyable hours here.

Was here on Saturday night into Sunday morning, been there a few times in the past, shame to see how vandalised it has become recently. Pictures of the workshop look cool, met some people walking around there who seemed sound and one of the guys showed me a picture of the workshop but I still have never managed to find it lol

The workshop is nextdoor to what was the mortuary. Right at the front close to security.

Always liked this place and it's a nice sized hospital for a decent afternoon mooch.

Last time I went in the copper choppers were underway and had bagged up loads of cable by the main doors so wouldn't surprise me if there were some backhand deals with the secca.

Na the motuary was the room next to the workshops. Door screwed shut with a hole in it showing a completely empty and featureless room.
Always wondered cheers for the clarification. Btw if anyone wants a hi res copy of the plan without copyright give me a shout, I paid 12 quid to alamy for the full image 😂
