Canterbury Borough Asylum

After closure in 2020 the site was handed over to Homes England who are planning a residential development consisting of 200 homes plus two retained ward blocks. Construction works are hoped to begin in 2024.
Solo visit whilst having a couple of days away in Canterbury & Dover during the summer.

Corridors
Some store rooms which looked to have been derelict a while. Various stuff in here including old patient artwork, various medical junk and a single bodybag!
Engineering. I also had a look in the adjoining mortuary but it didn't contain anything interesting

This ward was the first to close in 2005(?) and was the most dated
Patients smoking room!

Quite enjoyed it here really, yeah it’s a bit smaller and more modernised than you’d like but still spent a few enjoyable hours here.
