was working down this way and couldnt resist popping in w,th the two lads i was working with. only had my phone with me so pic quality is pretty bad, its alright though as the picture quality kind of matches the state of the building. Well and truly knackered the place is leaking like a sieve, damp&mould are well and taking over, the floor is like a sponge in places, was a pretty creepy place, hadnt done a morgue before and had a bit of an eerie feel to it, just wish i had been here when it was a little bit fresher, little bit of history-
Originally St. Peter’s Hospital was built to serve casualties of the Second World War, The mortuary was built in the 1940’s on the edge of the site.
However after extensive redevelopment of the site, the mortuary was found to be too small to cope with the increase in cadavers.
This mortuary was shut down in April 2009 and moved to the new building which is central to to main hospital.
hope you enjoyed,
happy exploring kids-play safe
