There's not much history to this site afaik, just a construction site set to be an apartment complex in Stratford Riverside once completed so I'll get straight to the explore.
THE EXPLORE
We found this site after our Strand East Tower climb (Report to be made soon) and decided to give it a go. Entry was ridiculously easy, there was NO secca on site whatsoever
Our first visit was in May, there was just about 30 floors at the time iirc. Photos below, enjoy!
Two iconic London landmarks here: the Olympic Stadium and the Orbital
Here you can see the Shard and Tower 42 in the distance with a new platform for the crossrail line in the foreground.
Spotted some sites towards Westfield for a later time
My first attempt at light trails, featuring Strand East on the left, report to come soon
The crane was very tempting but we couldn't find a way up at the time and wanted to leave at that point.
THE SECOND EXPLORE
Fast forward two months, I'd just returned to London from abroad and was itching for an explore. I decided to give this place another go but during the day instead. As predicted, we walked straight in without any resistance from the (lack of) security. This place looks even better in daylight:
The stunning London Aquatics centre designed by the late Zaha Hadid.
My mate is a crazy nutjob. I couldn't not include this
That's Canary wharf over there
And Canary Wharf again
THE CRANE
We managed to get up the crane this time via a sketchy jump between the building onto the frame of the crane. This shot highlights how high we were, roughly 3-5 floors had been added since our last visit.
Didn't walk the jib, too windy
Thanks for reading! This is only my 3rd report so far and I haven't quite got the hang of it yet so any feedback would be helpful, especially as my first report was moved straight to the members section within minutes so I have no idea what's going on with that.
