Hello! this is my first post so I hope I'm doing it right!
History
From my research it seemed like this was one of the most famous flour mills, not just in the uk but in the world as it was the largest and most modern mill at the time it was built in 1985. It was producing 25 bags of flour an hour and continued to make flour up until its closure in 2006.
There are plans to convert the site so that it can be utilised by the locals and bring more money back into the community. I believe that some demolition has already begun as it looked like there should have been a warehouse next to the silos but has now been removed.
The Explore
It was quite easy to get into this place and other than being in the centre of the town doesn't look like there is any security. Once in I first went to the smaller building and there was still lots of electronics let as well as some uniform found on the floor. I'm not sure how someone managed to get a sofa set on top of what looked like an office is beyond me.
Most of the rooms looked the same with milling equipment but there is a bridge that connects the two buildings, the smaller once has more office type rooms where I saw holiday request forms and office furniture.
I also met some other eager explorers who have been to the site before and gave me some insight to what it was like perviously. They mentioned that a pub opposite was also abandoned but unfortunately didn't managed to get into that one.
It was my first explore since moving to Gloucester and it didn't disappoint! I'm looking forward to what else there is to find! I do have more images on my website; https://os-photography.co.uk/2020/06/healings-mill/ (hope this is allowed)
