A Royal Observer Corps (ROC) United Kingdom Warning and Monitoring Organisation (UKWMO) monitoring post, defunct since 1991.
As noted in a previous report the hatch is padlocked. We had a word with the farmer who was happy to let us in. She recalled that the local unit used to meet on a Wednesday night every week.
Quite a few pictures because it is in quite good nick inside. More on the PB album.
Stunning part of the world, blowing a gale and a bit nippy
Quite clean and tidy inside, nice flow of air
The paperwork inside is showing signs of damp though the post was dry inside at the time of the visit.
Maps and diagrams
WB1401 etc.
tt and cupboard
doctor, doctor please...
have a seat or two
tea for two, or three...
sump was clean and dry
tidy toilet
obligatory view up the hatch
Paintwork on the doors is in very good nick, clean and not peeling.
in case you forget your post is number ...
