Typhoo is well known to any Midlands explorer worth their salt. Some of us have been trying to get in for getting on for 10 years now so it means a lot to finally see inside. The factory closed as Typhoo in 1978 and part was later used as a clothing wholesaler 'S Rose' which appeared to have possibly moved out in the late 90s? In 2010 the building was sold and the newer extension was put back into use. The older parts still remained derelict however and as we all know anything 'unseen' that has been closed 10+ years now is very very hard to find!
The factory is quite spares inside having been well stripped back but there was still plenty of little gems to hunt out and maybe still a few bits to find on return visits. I enjoyed the remains of the canteen and great urban/industrial contrast visible across the roof line. My photos don't really show half the good bits, mainly due to hangover and lack of time on my two visits, i will have to return.
