Liked this. The old presses and work benches, I could just imagine workers there. Loved the report and links, old photos for contrast. Great report, and as Ojay says if now sealed, this is a glimpse of history we would of never seen. Thanks for posting it.
Quality visit & report. So reminiscent of my apprenticeship at the Birminham Mint just down the road from there. Rope stamps & fly presses.

A little more information here from "The Birmingham Jewellery Quarter-An Archeological study" by John Catell et al, pub by English Heritage and , also from this book, an earlier picture probably c 2000
