[Exploring With Pride 🌈]

UCA Rochester closed in 2023 the reason was blamed on not having the £17 million needed to upgrade the landmark building on Fort Pitt Hill, high running costs and cuts in government funding the building since remained unoccupied with power still on and until recently was maintained and watched over but recently broken windows have appeared indicating its no longer watched over as throughly

The explore
After receiving a tip it was now open we decided to go take a look being local we had walked round the outside a few times before but all the doors and windows were intact so it was a no go that however no longer being the case (we returned 2 days later for daylight shots and found the copper thieves had gotten in and started on some areas

We quickly found an entry point
Much of the place is empty although the shear size of it ment overall there was still plenty to see

Sound room for the radio station they had here

Power was still on in the stairwell and toilets sensor activated made us jump as we came round a corner lol

I do love finding older tech it seemed out of place surrounded by modern stuff

We then got the the floors with working power

The canteen and kitchen areas

The reception office containing blueprints of the building

We then headed to the library

The library area after walking round the dimly lit floors below this bright room was abit much at first

The views are rather nice

We then headed for the top floors

I then went up to the roof but not being a fan of heights I didn't stick around for more than a quick look

Here are a few more photos from our daytime explore a couple days later as u can see the metal thieves had started and all the power was now out

Nothing to amazing but took us 2 hours to look round the whole place we also set of a fire door alarm by mistake 😅

Feb 19th still good, bit more trashed compared to these pics. Don’t climb through the window, check round the left corner I realised the door was open on my way out.
