Another local place ticked off the list, this one wasn't that interesting but it's such a rarity that we had to go and see it!
So in 1983 someone thought it would be a good idea to build a water park in the middle of a field so people from the countryside wouldn't have to go to the beach...
Of course it was a spectacular failure and lasted only about 10 years before shutting down due to problems with permits, water supply and overall mismanagement.
It was a scorching hot day and the forest was so dense that google maps wasn't helping us locate the place, we just had a vague hint from a youtube video saying 'it's in the hill behind the gas station'...
So we fought against brambles for quite some time until we saw some signs...found it! This explore was more about the satisfaction of finding the place than the actual place, but here we go!
The reception block/cafeteria, with an odd meat trailer next to it.
The fridge and the oven. Guess they must've invested in a nice oven to make pizza, quite typical of summer places.
The toilets/changing rooms.
Hand-painted sign for the women/men changing rooms. We're in a rural place so signage was in Catalan, not Spanish.
I think it's a Renault R4...?
The well. The wood must've been addedd to make it look cool, since there was a 'modern' pumping
installation inside the shaft.
From the chaning rooms, this staircase led people to the main pool area.
This was a weird sight. We're in a part of the country you wouldn't associate with water, quite a madman idea to build this here!
