If its toms dig make sure you look for another entrance first, last time we were digging for 2 hours before we saw an entrance 10ft away.

Looks an easy enough dig, a couple of days labour at the most.
Anyway, regarding those funky plant roots, im pretty sure it was actually mycelium, or the main body of a fungal organism.
