Solo visit today. A 1991 closure situated in a wonderful location in the Wear Valley.
The perimeter fence is intact with the exception of the gate. The post is lockable with the correct key. Internally the post is dry and after a quick 10 minuite tidy looks in a lot better shape. There is some nice detail in this un-chaved post including a lawnmower in the toilet room and original rain macs and gloves in the box. The siren and battery box are present in addition to a cloud type poster.
Anyway on with the pics...
And finally what must have been the post joke, a visit by HRH Prince Andrew at 8pm on the 30th of May 1984 and the reason - a Bingo Night!!
