I’m not the developer I’m a local resident, the planners have stipulated that the developer can build 50% of the new development and sell those to fund the historic development, their is a clause that they must do this or development will be halted.

Let’s wait and see what happens

The development will be halted.. yeah they won't care by that point, they'll have built, and sold the 6 properties and disappear off into the sunset.

Standard practice... all the plans sound lovely, sell the 6 properties, hoard off the old building until it falls down or burns to the ground.

Seen it 100's of times in these places, the developers cashes in on the lucrative houses and suddenly there is a "mystery fire" that destroys the main building and they stick more houses in its place.
