History
Not really much I could gather about this place however it has been the site to many crimes from harbouring potential illegal immigrants to thieves to arsonists taking it upon themselves to attempt to burn down this skeleton of what once was either an office or warehouse - these 2 titles get thrown a lot in different news articles so I can’t be quite certain on which is the case; but from my own experience I’d say it may be closer to an office as there’s remenants of burnt carpet on the first few floors. Regardless these days it’s been regularly used by the homeless as somewhere to sleep as well as local kids to play around, although with the amount of syringes dotted around its not exactly the best place to be. Anyways Wingate House has been sitting here rotting away for years and years and there isn’t any clear signs of development underway, so I expect it’ll stay as this hollowed out shell for the next few years; locals say it’s an eye sore but with every floor ascension the view gets better and better...

So we’ve been trying to hit this for a while, always promised the missus I’d take her with to this one as it honestly is the easiest walk-in I’ve ever experienced; it’s just the adjacent road that might catch you out - note to self, don’t give it a go when West Ham are playing at home yeah I wouldn’t say that’s a good time to go, neither would I say at night as it’s a bit 50/50 whether or not the occupants are friendly; so you do really just have to pick a time that you don’t mind working with; Back to the site though we’d had a look about 4/5 times prior before accessing it and it was certainly worth coming back twice to really check it out, didn’t hit the roof this time but next time we will and I’ll just attach the pics to this thread Pretty simple ordeal all in all and it’s located about 5 mins from the old courthouse so why not give them both a look?
PS, I did check out the old courthouse however my pics are very limited as we couldn’t access the building itself, only it’s roof, if anyone thinks it’s still worth me posting a report or waiting til I gain access then do let me know, I’m still in abit of limbo with it myself, and wouldn’t want the pics to go to waste as access to that involved a lot of shredded clothing
