Ahh interesting. So there must have been something above you then. Huge place that. I reckon there could be some finishing machinery upstairs at least.
yes there is a big mill above , enjoyed walking back through it lovely place all built in stone must have been a sweat shop back in its industrial hay day

Aye. All I know is that it ran till 2003 as John Edward Crowther LTD. They were known for there woollen jacketing cloths ‘bank bottom tweed’ it was called.
They also had a big spinning plant down the road in the centre of marsden at New mills called Crowther and Bruce a.k.a Colne valley spinning co. That shut a bit earlier I think 🤔
I bet there’s some tasty stuff in the offices aswell, Hopefully one day the Crowther family will understand that they have an industrial gem and allow people to see it!
