Great pics! Was there on Saturday and they are even working on the site on weekends. Nearly ran into two workmen...

I remember reading somewhere that this is supposedly one of the most contaminated brownfield sites in Wales which is why it's hung around so long while they argue about who was going to pick up the hefty bill for decontamination of the site - something in the order of £20 million is the estimated cost of just preparing the site.

Thought cwm coke would be around forever! Was always a great mooch, always looked great come summer when it was in bloom with all its foliage.

Has anyone local managed to get back to Cwm yet to see how demo is progressing? Wonder if there's much left now?

Apparently it's still just the ovens being demolished. Not been myself but local enough to hear otherwise. Came across some old photos of when it was still in use ..

Does anyone know if the rest of the works are still there, or have they all been demolished?
I visited in August 2022. Much of it is still there, got caught by secca but spoke to him and he said its unlikely mote will be demolished as there's some rare birds nesting in the main tower, and the land is too contaminated for housing.
