Now that’s a blast from the past find.

I remember one of those things hanging from the ceiling at an amusement arcade in Scarborough when I was a kid. I always looked at it and thought I’d be the boss cruising around my village on the C5.

If only I could have won that bingo. My whole life could have been so different 😂

Can highly recommend it as well if anyone is in Philly for any length of time and can dodge being shot.

Best time to go is early on a preferably rainy weekday morning, I did and had basically the entire place to myself all morning.

Didn’t get shot, thankfully. Nearly got mugged if I hadn’t ducked into a hotel lobby at the last minute 😬

We went on a very sunny hot day and the place was crawling with people - quite good to see other people want to see it tbh.

I was clearing out my camera roll and delved deep into the archives when I stumbled across these images. I know these photos are of poor quality, but I fell in love with the windows and the elegant ceiling so I thought I’d share these pictures with others who may also appreciate this stunning architecture.

These photos are from the end of July. I’m not entirely sure what building this is. I know that it’s a building that I discovered when walking about in Ashton and the entrance was wide open. A construction worker who was working on the adjacent building came over to say hello and we had a lovely conversation. He was a wonderful man and I wish him well. He told me that I reminded him of his friend that enjoyed exploring abandoned buildings.

Thought folk here would like to see this: I found this postcard in a rummage box in a junk shop earlier this year and paid a whole £1 for it. I recall being awestruck by the first threads on the Mail Rail that appeared around 2011 and those that then followed. I never explored it myself but I did visit the postal museum at Mount Pleasant a few years ago and rode around the small section of the tunnels that are now open to the public. The postcard is now framed and mounted on the wall of my office.
