Greenfield House is centrally located within Alloa, Clackmannanshire, in the heart of Scotland, with Stirling to the west, Dunfermline to the east, Falkirk to the south and Perth to the north. The property is a short walk from Alloa railway station which provides direct hourly passenger services to Stirling and beyond. Whilst both Edinburgh (30 miles) and Glasgow (35 miles) Airports are within a 40 minute drive of the town.
Greenfield House is a Category B Listed, three-storey, sandstone building designed by Edinburgh architects, A G Sydney Mitchell and Watson. It was built between 1892 and 1894 for David Thomson, the former Deputy Lieutenant of Clackmannanshire and in 1952 the house was bought by Alloa Borough Council. Further development of the building received commendation from the Civic Trust in 1987 when it was extended, with purpose built offices added, to accommodate Clackmannanshire Council.
We were very lucky on this explore as the place is alarmed and the police station is a 2 min walk. Local neds always smashing windows though! Not seen any reports in this place anywhere and been keeping it to myself. Seems developer has been refused planning permission and I know the local community would live to take it over but I think this is unlikely.
I absolutely loved this place as it’s so untouched.
I loved this room. The wallpaper is over200 years old and made of copper. Close up at bottom of pics.
