Report - Middleton Mine, October 2009

Visited with Urban Junky and Tucker, many thanks to Shadow and Raptor Jesus for being our guides.

What a massive place this is. Easily the largest underground space I have ever seen. We saw a fraction of it in half a day.

Just to get the scale of the place...

This place was crazily big. Its prime for some exploring on a pushbike or could house the worlds first underground rally track. Massive slopes, up and down, with pillars that easily dwarf your average sized house. Madness! Cheers to shadow and Jesus for the tour!

Fucking hell... I've never been interesting in exploring mines before. But I just saw these pictures and I'm totally converted. That first shot is mental, as is the one with the tunnel on top of the tunnel..

Very impressive!! Unbelieveable scale. Reminds me of the limestone mines accessed via the Milwr Tunnel... colossal! Nice pics too
