Hi all.
Had a busy morning and visited two local ROC posts.
First stop was Middleton ROC Post - it's already been covered on UE HERE.
Then on to Swaffham ROC Post - not yet covered on UE so my chance at a first report!!
Located in the middle of an in-use farm field:
Unlocked - it was easy to open the hatch:
Down the hatch - first thing to note was the abundance of snails!
Looking up from the bottom of the shaft:
The bog:
Looking back to the entrance from inside the post:
A close-up of the bottom of the shaft area:
Not much left inside - bunks and an empty cupboard (and of course loads of snails):
Couple of batteries too:
Close-up of the empty cupboard:
Back up to the surface and the pillbox with it's aircraft observation tower:
A close-up of the brick built tower:
Finally a shot of hay-stacks being loaded on to trucks - they were working on the other side of the field and didn't seem bothered by my presence:
That's one of Swaffham's two wind generators in the background by the way.
A nice morning out and my two nearest ROC Posts explored - time for a rest i think.
