I use GIMP for making animated gif's. Take a serious of pictures, open them all as layers and export as .gif ... done

File > Open As Layers. If you want to change image size, go to Image > Scale Image. To make the gif: File > Save As, change the file extension to .gif, then click Save. Chose 'Save As Animation', then click Export. You can then change the delay between frames (i.e. speed of animation), 100 milliseconds is the default and works pretty well for most gif's. Then click Save, and you're done.

Might sound a wee bit complicated but it really isn't.

EDIT: If you want to use a picture more than once, right-click on it and chose 'duplicate layer', that gives you a copy of the picture.

There's been some good ones here recently. I've found that http://picasion.com works well, no watermark, configurable etc. They also host the image for you, although I don't know how long for.

Anyway, here's my recent effort...

Yea, had the RAF Falcons display team up here. Why did they cancel the WW2 event? Saw the Red Devils from up here too
